About

My passion for photography began in 2006 when I spotted a sign advertising the Winchester Photographic Society annual exhibition. I was so inspired by the work that I knew I would just love to be able to take photographs even half as good as the ones on display. But it was May and I had to wait until the new season began in September and I am very impatient....

When I joined I thought I would just go to the talks that looked interesting but I soon found myself going every week.By then I had a Canon 350D and I didn't know how to use it properly but loved learning and meeting up with other photographers and having the opportunity to see other people's work.

I am drawn to strong graphic shapes and colours and most of my work tends to be shots of detail rather than bigger landscapes.

In November 2008 I thought it would be fun to try and take a photograph every weekday morning for a whole year, just shots of everyday subjects that surround me mostly around the home, a form of visual diary. The result is the portfolio 'five days a week'. I love getting up each morning and not knowing what I am going to be taking.............do have a look.
