A visit to Bristol to photograph the annual Balloon Festival.I photographed the balloons lifting off just after dawn and the people enjoying their breakfasts afterwards. It proved to be a very British day, including seeing wedding couples arriving to have their photographs taken at the Clifton suspension bridge where we whiled away time waiting for the evening lift off. |

In September 2010 I was lucky enough to pay a visit to this wonderful pottery with a friend. Fortunately for me she spoke fluent French and so was able to ask permission to take photos. We were the only visitors and the lovely owners allowed us a free rein to photograph what we wanted. The afternoon light was strong outside producing a huge contrast as it streamed in through the open windows onto the potters who were working directly in front of them, and it meant that we could photograph entirely in natural light. |
